Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical artist to join our creative team in making visual awesomeness for our games by creating tools and systems that will help both worlds, art and development.

Responsibilities

  • Create the tools and systems to allow game assets to go into the game (usually shaders/algorithms/techniques)
  • Keep track of asset performance, implementation, triggering, optimizing and debugging
  • Be a proactive bridge between the art and engineering teams
  • Work among cross discipline groups in the delivery of shared goals (support artist and devs in the art pipeline)
  • Work with engineering to optimize content for porting and refine release & pipeline processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized file structures
  • Take an active role in the evolution of the game, working with all disciplines to understand the vision and design for the game and using that experience to inform decisions
  • Give feedback in a friendly, open-minded and positive manner
  • Research new technology, build tools for the artists or designers
  • Learn new skills and build on existing abilities

Requirements

  • Good understanding of art fundamentals with a great sense for details, design and visual storytelling
  • Solid understanding of Unity3D pipeline
  • Good knowledge of game engine workflows
  • Previous experience creating mobile games
  • Comfortable working with scripting and programming languages. (C# preferred)
  • Knowledge of one major 3D software packages (Maya preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of 2D creation software (Photoshop etc) and image manipulation
  • Genuine passion for games and game making, not just software development
  • Committed to fast (and lifelong) learning with a T-shaped mindset
  • Capacity to dream big and execute with pragmatism
  • Ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical peers
